Development plans, Public space and Urban development

Goal:

The working group on Development Plans, Public Space and Urban Development (DPU) monitors, protects and promotes the historical character of the buildings and the environment of and in the city.

Method:

The working group proactively gives advice and comments on issues of cultural-historical relevance in spatial visions and redevelopment plans that are based on municipal memoranda such as the Spatial Structure Vision, the City Centre Vision, the Policy Memorandum and the Cultural History Vision.

It also evaluates the municipal planning in terms of quality and time regarding cultural-historical relevance.

Furthermore, the working group takes the appropriate steps in case historical buildings or the environmental character are being threatened or can be strengthened.

The working group assumes, among other things, the applicable statutory rules and international treaties.

Activities:

Individual construction plans and environmental renovation plans in the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch are actively monitored, assessed, tested and if necessary encouraged
